Drawing change: visual communication.
My background combines non-profit administration, art, communications and facilitation. I’ve worked in the non-profit sector since 1999 with diverse communities including disability and mental health organizations, student and labour unions, and food security groups.
Throughout my career, I’ve used my creativity to organize information visually. I worked for the Simon Fraser Student Society for 10 years, coordinating student groups and incorporating visuals into educational handouts and displays. As the Administrative Director at the BC Coalition of People with Disabilities, I expanded my role to include online communications. Since 2008, I’ve created illustrations and branding on a freelance basis for non-profits, community groups, magazines, and more. These visuals communicate themes of social change.
I love working with people, especially as a facilitator. Currently, I’m co-facilitating a peer support group for adults with disabilities. Previously, I’ve facilitated strategic planning sessions, youth and mental health groups, and art workshops including linocut printmaking. In 2012, I’m interested in combining art and facilitation using graphic recording techniques.
My education includes training from Philadelphia’s Training for Change, art/design courses at Emily Carr University, and I am currently a Master’s student in Educational Studies at the University of British Columbia.
I’m available for custom illustration, letterpress projects, facilitation work and art workshops. I live in Vancouver, BC/ Coast Salish Territories.
Inspirations include bicycles, resilience, and eating together.
